Welcome to Team Lindsey Wrestling Club, a non-profit organization in Cincinnati with an endless passion to provide an opportunity for local youth to receive high level training and instruction in all aspects of the sport. Germane Lindsey Sr.
Team Founder, as well as Germane Jr. & Matthew's Father. At his Alma mater, Aiken, Coach Germane was a four year Varsity Letterman in football, wrestling and track. Captain of the wrestling team, 25-1 record, Champion Reading Invitational, Indian Hill Tournament, PHSL League Champion, 1st Team All PHSL and District qualifier. Coach Lindsey began his coaching career in 1991 for both football and wrestling, then began his own wrestling program called the SW OHIO All-Stars that competed all over the country. He has mentored thousands of kids, many of the kids to a four year University on a sports scholarship. Coaching at Aiken High School, Finneytown High School and Moeller Kids Club, Junior High & High School, youth football at Hilltop, Tri-County, currently Winton Woods Lil Warriors and began his family non-profit 501-3C wrestling club, Team Lindsey.
"As far back as I can remember I've wanted to help the youth through competitive sports. God has given me the gift of guidance and leadership. This gift has allowed me to see the potential in youth when others perceive trouble. I'm returning these values that some coaches over the years have given me to pass on to our youth and for that I stay humble." His goal is to help every young (wo)man that he encounters to achieve their highest goal.
Germane Lindsey Jr.
Ohio University All-American wrestler, Germane won an Ohio state title for Moeller High School in 2007, currently, head wrestling coach at Moeller High School.
As a wrestler at his Alma mater Moeller, Lindsey still ranks as one of the all-time leaders in takedowns for the Crusaders. Germane won Ohio team's Most Valuable Wrestler award... team's Hardest Worker award...155-26 career record at Moeller High School ... Three-time Ohio state tournament qualifier...Two-time state placer ...winning the 140-pound title at the Ohio High School Athletic Association wrestling championships in 2007 ... First-team All-Conference and All-Region ... Graduated from Moeller as the No. 2 ranked wrestler at 141-pounds in the state of Ohio ... Ranked No. 11 in the nation ... Lettered in football and wrestling.
After graduating from Moeller in 2007, Lindsey headed east to Ohio University. As a Bobcat, Lindsey became the first Moeller wrestler to earn NCAA All-American honors with his sixth-place finish at 141 pounds at the 2010 NCAA Division I Wrestling Championships. During his time as an Ohio wrestler, Lindsey lettered all four years, was voted the team's hardest worker all four years, and led the team in wins twice. Upon graduation, Lindsey stayed in Athens to serve as an assistant coach for the Bobcats before coming back to Moeller.
Matthew Day-Lindsey
Southwest Select Head Coach, Matt began wrestling at the age of 4. He wrestled for Moeller 2009-2012, GCL Champion, C.I.T. Champion, Coaches Classic Placer, Powerade Placer, Section Champion, District Placer and Iron man round of 12. He finished an injury plagued season, 28-7 and 1st Team All CL. He went onto Cleveland State as a red-shirt freshman. After his freshman year, he transferred to St. Catherine College where he finished with a 13-5 record at the 141 weight class, placed at the Michigan State Open, a 7-3 Dual record. When they dropped the wrestling program, Matt returned home to Cincinnati and his Alma mater, Moeller to coach. His goal is to help the Men of Moeller accomplish their dreams. Coach Matt still competes to this day, Champion Tournament of Champions, 2 time Champion Spatola Open, 2017 and 2018, Runner up Spatola Open in 2019.
As of Fall 2019, Matt is the Head Wrestling Coach for Walnut Hills High School in Cincinnati, Ohio. As well, he is Head Coach for the Southwest Select Junior High Club and coach for the Team Lindsey Wrestling Club, which he works hard to continue to make it one of the best youth wrestling teams in the state!

CLUB TRAINING
Beginner K-3rd
Team Lindsey has limited openings for new wrestlers each season. Club membership is offered to all returning club members at the beginning of the following season, then is opened to new applicants.
We have two different training options based on the wrestlers age, technique and skill level, Beginner & Elite. Coaches will evaluate students and suggest where the wrestler should be placed upon observing him/her for the first time.
Beginner training focuses on 8 core techniques in wrestling needed to be a successful beginner wrestler. We introduce and practice body awareness through agility and technique drills. Sessions are developed with introducing solid wrestling technique through fun drills, skills, and games!

Practice Information:
Beginner Training is not only based on ages but on ability level. Emphasis will be placed on body awareness (tumbling and agility), basic wrestling skills (stance, motion, penetration step), beginner wrestling technique (doubles, sprawls, stand-ups, and turns) and basic strength training/conditioning (push-ups, sit-ups) in a fun atmosphere to introduce the basic techniques needed in the sport of wrestling
Wrestlers will learn how to work with a partner correctly in order to learn moves and drill them repetitively.
Live Wrestling situations and games will be used to introduce beginner wrestlers to the sport of wrestling.

ELITE TRAINING
2019-2020 Team Lindsey Elite
4th-6th Grades & Coach Invite
Coach Invite openings are offered to wrestlers of any age and are based on coaches discretion, the wrestlers technique and skill level.
Team Lindsey Elite wrestlers must commit to 3 nights a week of training;
Monday, Wednesday and Thursday are MANDATORY, 6:00pm- 7:30pm.
Elite Wrestlers will have the option to also train/wrestle on Tuesday and Friday. There will be open mat from 5:00pm - 6:30pm.

Jr. High Team
Southwest Select Training is a premier wrestling club open to all Southwest Ohio Jr. High wrestlers. Ran by coaches Corey Selmon and Matt Lindsey-collegiate style hard goes.
Coaches Matt & Corey set standards high purposely in order to continue producing champions. This is a program filled with Folk style wrestling, superior strength and conditioning as well as mental focus! If you are looking for the ‘next level’ of training where success is the leading focus among the collegiate style of coaching, then Southwest Select is the place for you! This club is offered to Jr. High wrestlers who are in need of solid training partners, proper fundamentals of wrestling, and year-round training!

How do you become a member of Team Lindsey Wrestling Club?
Simple! Drop into practice and speak with a coach, contact Germane directly or print, fill-out and bring forms to practice with your child.
We welcome all youth, boys and girls, ages K - 6th grade.
Can I drop in for a practice?
We welcome all to drop in and try out a practice before joining! Our drop in fee is $10 each practice.
